I am the owner and dreamer of Sacred Kinetics LLC. I am an NCCA accredited personal trainer and nutrition coach. I am also a certified assistant stretch practitioner. I am not the typical big buff trainer; my focus is more on mental health through physical activity.
Here is a little of my back story:
I was an athlete in school, nothing major but I enjoyed competition. I played all the major sports like basketball, baseball, and football. I also ran track but competed in only small high school events. Eventually I had my mind set on joining the United States Air Force.
After high school I enlisted and spent over 8 years in the service mainly an Radio Frequency Electronic Systems Technician. During my time in the service, I experienced health setbacks that led me to receiving seven surgeries in 7 years. All of which were in and around my Coccyx (tailbone). Each of those seven years I had several weeks to months of being on crutches or being bedridden. I became overweight and depressed.
One year I had a breakthrough surgery that finally ended the infection with which I was dealing with. I had doctors tell me I would have to limit my physical activities at risk of severe pain due to nerve damage and scar tissue. But I was determined to prove them wrong. With the help of a fellow Airman and Air Force wrestler I trained and worked hard. I found success in different therapies and exercise modalities. I lost sixty-five pounds and discovered what determination and the right intentions can do.
After my military service I embarked on learning in the field of Health & Wellness. I became certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine for personal training and nutrition coaching. I also received a diploma in Personal training through York Technical College in South Carolina. I worked as a personal training intern at the GYM at 214 Main Street in Fort Mill, South Carolina and at YTC in Rock Hill, South Carolina. After interning I tried various fitness positions at different establishments such as Gold's Gym, LA Fitness, FitBodyBootCamp, StretchLab, and Anytime Fitness. I saw an opportunity to be more connected in my practice as a private fitness trainer and that I can connect with my clients on a more personal basis while also providing a better service through my own practice.
I consider myself a lifelong learner and I am always looking at ways to improve myself and others around me. I look at life through experiences and not being able to experience life because of physical weakness is not something anyone should have to deal with. I believe everyone has to find their own "why" or the reason they wish to push forward but one thing always holds true. How do you know what you can or can not do unless you are willing to try?
Call me Coach, call me Josh, either way just Call Me!
